18TH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

ree

The Gospel for 18th Sunday after Pentecost  is Luke 17:11–19. In this passage, Jesus heals ten lepers who cry out to Him for mercy as He travels between Samaria and Galilee. All ten are cleansed as they go, but only one - a Samaritan - returns to thank Jesus and praise God. Jesus asks, “Were not ten made clean? But the other nine, where are they?” He then tells the thankful man, “Your faith has made you well.” This story highlights not only Jesus’ power to heal, but also the importance of gratitude and faith. It reminds us that wholeness comes not just from physical healing, but from turning back to God with a thankful heart.
